He joined the Board of Accuron Technologies in May 2014, and was appointed President & CEO from 1 August 2015. Before joining the group, Mr Tan had served many years in the public sector. He was the Chief Executive of SPRING Singapore, a government agency overseeing Singapore’s efforts in enterprise development, entrepreneurship, innovation,
quality and standards, from May 2013 to July 2015. Prior to joining SPRING Singapore, he was a career naval officer in the Republic of Singapore Navy. He has served in a range of command and staff positions including the Fleet Commander and the Chief of Staff – Naval Staff.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Physics) Degree from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Science (Management) Degree from Stanford University. He received the SAF (Overseas) cum President’s Scholarship in 1985; and the Public Administration Medal (Silver) (Military) in 2007.
