As a father of two beautiful children, who has dealt with the NYC family court system, he is now seeking ways to Help other fathers regain healthy relationships with their children. Having launched TenaflyMansion he is committed to
establishing facilities that cater to the needs of single fathers and their children. according to the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, single mothers — who as of 2016 headed 83 percent of the single-parent households in the U.S., — often face financial pressures, whereas single fathers are more likely to a) Lack Support; b) face challenges from a system that strips them of their dignity, while also doing untold psychological harm to their children.
After his first-hand experience with Manhattan’s Child Forensic Services (CFS), a court-mandated supervisor that requires fathers to connect with his kids in such stark places as social workers’ offices, which is the only option for fathers in NYC battling to unproven allegations Steven knew there was a better way.
“When I see a certain system is not working,” he said, “I think of how to solve it — in this case by creating a business that would raise awareness. That’s creating a solution, in and of itself.”
As the first facility, TenaflyMansion is a solution to the CFS issue, where single fathers reunite with their children and possibly connect with other fathers facing similar challenges. In addition to the co-living component for single parents, the property's common spaces cater especially to fathers providing all the benefits of a community of like-minded parents, beautifully decorated home, flexibility, onsite staff to cater to all father-child needs.
Also in the works, MeToo Hospitality, will provide single fathers with boutique shared locations that offer opportunities for fathers to develop or re-establish relationships with their children in a safe environment.
