Shruti Challa is a tech and operating executive focused on demand generation. She currently leads all of revenue at Sonder, which includes all aspects of go-to-market (marketing, partnerships, sales, pricing etc.) along with data science and related product teams. Currently valued at $1.3B, Sonder is a hospitality company that combines the
consistency of hotels with the flexibility of short-term rental apartments. Shruti spearheaded Sonder's strategy to weather the height of the pandemic through an Extended Stay initiative, which has allowed the company to maintain occupancy rates at +70% - far above the industry average. She also leads Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work at Sonder.
Before landing at Sonder, Shruti was on the leadership teams at two companies that were acquired; one by Booking.com and the other by Groupon.
In addition to her role at Sonder, Shruti is also an avid investor in tech startups. She is an investor in growth-stage companies like SpaceX, Coursera, SoFi, and Robinhood; early-stage companies like Boom, Kaizen, KMB, etc.; and in a couple of funds like 137 Ventures and Amplo, etc. She got interested in investing after being an associate at Founders Fund in college at Stanford.
In addition, she is a published author in publications like Forbes and TechCrunch. She also enjoys public speaking and has the opportunity to speak at a variety of conferences from SXSW, The Next Web, Digital Travel Summit, Phocuswright, Hustle Con, MobileBeat, etc. Shruti also is active in the Indian entrepreneurship community and was invited by the US State Department to give a two-week tour; presenting at IIT Bombay, IIM Kozhikode, Startup Village, Times Internet, SLASSCOM, NASSCOM, TiE, USAID, GIST, Angels / VC networks, and more.
She has a degree in economics from Stanford and (almost) finished her masters in predictive analytics at Northwestern.
