Nigel is Partner for Orsatech, an independent management consulting firm providing strategy, operations, fund raising and technology consulting to clients. Nigel has invented, designed, developed, researched and evangelised technology products in the international arena for more than 30 years. He is passionate about delivering the benefits of
technological innovation to end-users.
Earlier in his career Nigel, around several of his technology patents on Virtual SIMs and split billing, founded and grew Movirtu to be a pioneer of Mobile Identity Management (MIM) solutions to mobile operators. The company was subsequently acquired by Blackberry in 2014. Prior to Movirtu he worked with leading software and technology companies such as Bharti Telesoft, Glenayre, Sema Group and Nortel. In these companies he held a number of executive positions having lived in various countries and gained extensive experience in Africa, Middle East, South Asia, Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and USA.
Nigel received his degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Birmingham. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered IT Professional, a Fellow of the Royal Society Art, Manufacturing and Commerce, a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Member of the Association for Project Management.
Nigel has been widely recognised by the industry including GSMA Top Innovator 2008, PopTech Social Innovation Fellow 2009, GSBI Fellow 2010, MEX User Experience Innovator of the Year 2010 and Dr. Alireza Mahmoodshahi WCA Technology Foresight Award 2011. Nigel enjoys giving back to his local community and is a Youth Team Manager and Assistant Coach for his local rugby club Hampstead RFC.
