As CPO of Smule, Mary Yang has led the company's product and engineering teams, focusing on strategy, design, and innovation. Since Mary joined Smule, she has helped define the company’s vision and set the roadmap for Smule's platform and portfolio, re-organized the development team into squads focusing on different business areas, and
doubled the size of Smule’s global community to 50 million monthly active users.
She is a seasoned product leader and entrepreneur in the global mobile consumer market space. Prior to Smule, Mary co-founded the U.S. incubator of Renren and built the firm's international product line. Under her leadership, two mobile social applications targeting global markets were launched and acquired later. She continues to mentor multiple startups and is an advisor to the Chinese Entrepreneurs Organization.
Mary holds a M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
