Mamoon Hamid is a Co-Founder + General Partner at The Social+Capital Partnership (Social Capital) – a venture capital fund based in Palo Alto, CA that incubates and invests in breakthrough companies in healthcare, education, financial services, mobile and enterprise software.
Mamoon has been an early investor in and served on the boards of some of the most disruptive software companies of recent times including Yammer (acquired by Microsoft), Box, Slack, Intercom, Greenhouse, Clearslide, Castlight Health and Act-On.
Prior to Social+Capital, Mamoon was a Partner at U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), where he spent six years. Mamoon started his Silicon Valley career at Xilinx where he spent six years in various engineering and marketing leadership roles. At Xilinx he helped build a new $100m business in consumer electronics and automotive over the course of 3 years.
Mamoon holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, an MS from Stanford University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
