King Vanga is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of CivicSentinel AI, a Stanford-born technology venture focused on building transparent, ethically aligned systems for detecting misinformation, adversarial manipulation, and emerging AI-driven threats. His work integrates artificial intelligence, information security, and public-interest
technology, with the goal of strengthening institutional trust and civic stability.
Vanga earned his B.S. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence track) from Stanford University and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Management Science & Engineering, specializing in Technology & Engineering Management. His academic research includes peer-reviewed contributions in AI safety, alignment, existential risk modeling, misinformation mitigation, and decision-making under uncertainty. He combines this technical grounding with a practical focus on how AI systems affect real-world institutions and communities.
At CivicSentinel AI, Vanga leads the development of analytic and early-warning tools that help journalists, civic organizations, and technology teams identify risks before they escalate. The platform reflects his broader belief that AI’s growing influence requires responsible deployment, rigorous accountability, and safeguards that protect the public from unintended harm.
In addition to his venture work, Vanga has founded and contributed to community and campus initiatives centered on ethical technology. He co-founded Kare Packages, a nonprofit that distributed thousands of COVID-19 protection kits and masks to unhoused communities across California. He also helped establish AEGIS (Applied Ethics, Governance, and Institutional Systems) at Stanford, a student-led initiative focused on strengthening ethical standards in civic technology and institutional systems.
King Vanga’s long-term professional mission is to ensure that progress in artificial intelligence supports civic wellbeing, reinforces public trust, and advances responsible innovation.
