Jesus D. Suarez is the founder and CEO of Renaissance Medical Group, LLC, a full-service healthcare provider committed to delivering personalized and culturally competent health and wellness services. As a Latino migrant from Puerto Rico, Suarez has always been passionate about empowering the Latino community through access to equitable care. He
founded Renaissance Medical Group–– the first Latino owned-and-operated medical group in Massachusetts–– in 2011 after experiencing and recognizing the intersectional disparities affecting the wider Latino community, particularly the way in which social and financial imbalances influence sufficient healthcare. Suarez developed Renaissance Medical Group based on a holistic model for medical care that focuses on the individual patient and the interconnected impacts of social determinants, creating the “RMG 360° Model of Care.” The unique model allows for customizable care plans including a variety of services that fall under the wide umbrella of Renaissance Medical Group–– from home care, group adult foster care, and primary care to behavioral & mental health, pharmacy services, the adult day health center, a food program battling food insecurity, and more. CEO Suarez has received recognition as a trailblazer and pioneer in the world of equitable care. He has over a decade of experience and nearly 30 certifications in the fields of health, mental health, and the business of healthcare awarded by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, continuing to further his education as the healthcare industry evolves. Suarez is an active member of FEMA and FEMA’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), as well as a data collaborator with the World Health Organization. He is a member and collaborator in several local, national, and global health conferences including the HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) Global Conference. Over the years, Suarez expanded Renaissance Medical Group to four locations across the state of Massachusetts and curated a qualified team of professionals including board members from UMass Memorial Health and UMass Harrington Hospital, REACH (or the Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health national program), and others involved in healthcare on both state and national levels. Renaissance Medical Group’s unique model gained a successful track record of reaching and serving populations that have been historically overlooked in the world of healthcare and wellness. Renaissance Medical Group currently provides services to over 30,000 individuals, and with strategic partnerships filling gaps between health and housing like the one with the Worcester Housing Authority, over 15,000 more. Powered by his enthusiasm and life’s mission to serve those within his community and beyond, Suarez has plans to continue to expand and take the company to new heights in the coming years. He continues to fulfill his life’s work according to his business mantra and personal motto: “serving is a one-word revival.”
