Hsiao-Lu received her PhD in Chemistry from Stanford University, where she applied single-molecule super-resolution cellular imaging to study live mammalian and bacterial cells in Nobel Laureate W.E. Moerner's group. Her work imaging dynamic ion channel distribution on live neuronal cells was recognized by the PicoQuant Young Investigator
award.
Her work resolving mammalian cytoskeleton in 3D made the cover of Applied Physics Letters. As a postdoctoral fellow in Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine at the Stanford Medical School, Hsiao-Lu modeled Parkinson's disease using human stem cells and stem cell-derived neurons.
A passionate entrepreneur as well as scientist, Hsiao-Lu is a graduate of the Stanford Business School Ignite program and has been involved in several successful startups, both venture-backed and privately-funded, in roles ranging from co-founder to key executive of the leadership team. She is currently a consultant at McKinsey & company.
