Prior to starting BrainWorks, Coen founded DataFusion Systems, a high-tech company specializing in voice recording technology. The company launched the world’s first fully digital multichannel voice recorder in the early 1990, soon became the Southern Africa market leader, and owned a significant portion of the world market. Coen serves as
non-executive on the board of a number of South African based companies, including Poynting Antennas Ltd and Parsec Holdings (Pty) Ltd. He holds engineering and MBA degrees from the University of Pretoria and is a fellow of the South African Academy of Engineering. He also completed the OPM course at Harvard Business School.
For the last ten years, he has been intimately involved in the field of his passion: mentoring and coaching next generation leaders. His first book on leadership, Live & Lead – Discover Your Personal & Organizational Guidance System, was released in 2012.
