After his Studies industrial Engineering, Wouter joined the Royal Dutch Marines in 1990 which formed him as commander and developing mental stamina. After his first jobs at Philips Electronics, Wouter started his entrepreneurial life in 1997, supplying components to MedTech companies. Throughout his career, Wouter has started and grown 4 medical
companies of which he sold 2 successfully. Wouter also managed 2 medium sized medical companies. Throughout his career, creating growth is the continuous factor; in radiology, cardiology as well as elderly care. In April 2015, Wouter co-founded Haermonics, a spinoff of the AMC, where he now acts as CEO. Haermonics develops a device and disposables to flush the pericardial cavity to make open heart surgery safer and better. Haermonics ambition is to save 5000 lives and €1 billion health care cost in 10 years. Wouter loves sports and outdoor activities and is actively playing field hockey, sailing, skiing, speed skating and relaxing yoga. In the weekends, he has fun with his large family.
