Bill Staby is co-founder and CEO of Boston-based Resolute Marine Energy, Inc. (RME) which is developing a technology that harnesses the energy of ocean waves to provide clean water and electricity for remote and off-grid communities. RME currently has projects under development in Oregon and two countries on the African continent.
Bill is a U.S.
delegate to the IECRE Marine Energy Operations Management Committee (ME-OMC) and is the Convener of its Finance sub-committee and a Member of its Rules of Procedure committee. The ME-OMC is developing conformity assessment rules and procedures whereby certification bodies can issue certificates, test reports and other documents relevant to the global acceptance of marine energy converters of all kinds. Bill is also the head of the U.S. delegation to IEC TC-114 in Geneva, Switzerland, where he is a leader in the development of technical standards for the marine renewable energy industry. Bill is a member of the board of directors of the of the World Ocean Council and the Marine Renewable Energy Collaborative and he is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the University of North Carolina Coastal Studies Institute.
