William G. Cloud, M.D. is a general surgeon at Fauquier Health in Warrenton, Virginia, and a member of Fauquier Health General Surgery since 2012.
Dr. Cloud has more than 30 years in practice and in surgical resident instruction. He currently serves as a director of Fauquier Health’s University of Virginia Surgical Residency Program, and

Dr. Cloud joined LifePoint’s Fauquier Health from private practice with Charlotte Surgical Group and a solo practice in Morganton, North Carolina. He served for 18 years on the teaching faculty for surgical residents at Carolinas Medical Center, as well as the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Cloud earned his undergraduate degree from Davidson College and his medical degree from the University of Virginia. He completed a fellowship and residency at the University of Virginia, and obtained a master of academic medicine degree from Keck Medical School at the University of Southern California.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Muller-Jones Postgraduate Surgical Society, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, and the Association for Surgical Education.
