West Lockhart is responsible for asset management in the Latin American region. Prior to this position, West was responsible for the Strategic Partnership Program in Europe, where he worked on developing the company's partnership strategy with banks, insurance companies and pension funds. From 2012 to 2017, he was responsible for retail sales
in Europe, where he led the distribution of BlackRock solutions and active funds in the region. West was Europe's chief marketing officer and was responsible for marketing strategy and brand development.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2007, West held a variety of marketing and sales roles at Merrill Lynch in New York. From 1995 to 2000, he worked at Young & Rubicam Inc in Miami and New York, where he led the marketing strategy for various relationships with global clients in the financial services and technology sectors.
West was a member of the honor society Phi Beta Kappa of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated in Political Science. He has a master's degree in Latin American studies and international business from the University of Miami, where he graduated with honors and held a research position at the North-South Center for Latin American Studies. West is an avid student of languages as well as a cyclist.
