Mr. Miao Wei was born in May 1955. He graduated from Hefei University of Technology in 1982.
From 1982-2005, he worked successively in China Automobile Sales and Service Company, China National Automotive Industry Corporation, former Ministry of Machinery Industry, and Dongfeng Motor Corporation. He was appointed member of the Standing Committee
of CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee in May 2005.
He was appointed Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in March 2008, and Minister of MIIT in December 2010.
