He joined the firm as its Chief Financial Officer in 2007 and is responsible for the financial management of the firm’s proprietary management activities at Vantage Capital Investments and is also responsible for risk management and portfolio monitoring and plays a significant role in the assessment of all new investments. He served a year of academic articles at the University of Witwatersrand and completed remaining of his articles at Arthur Anderson before starting his banking career with Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank. Warren van der Merwe’s first position was an Accounts Executive in the Corporate Banking Division, managing bank’s relationships with its certain banking and mining clients. He then assumed a new business development role and led a team of transactors in this new business team. During this time, Warren van der Merwe conducted various bank funding deals including several leveraged finance transactions. His last position was in the bank’s acquisition finance team, where he successfully concluded a number of leveraged finance transactions, before joining Vantage Capital. He represents Vantage on the board of Landmark. Warren van der Merwe served a year of academic articles at the University of Witwatersrand. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Commerce, B.Comm, and Bachelors in Accounting, with honors, from Wits.
