Warren is responsible for all technical aspects of Clearwater’s operations and services. Previously, Warren was General Manager in the AWS Machine Learning Group at Amazon, where he launched several public services. Before that he served as the General Manager for Business AI at Microsoft where he brought many machine learning technologies to
market. For five years Warren was CTO for SMART Technologies, where his teams received 16 awards for a series of products they created. Before 2012, he held several positions at Microsoft and was instrumental in the development of wireless networking in Windows, Microsoft Skype for Business, and numerous broadly used media technologies. At Microsoft, he also played a central role in establishing WiFi as a worldwide standard and authored various key industry wireless specifications.
Warren is also active in the VC community and acts in an advisory role for various early stage startups. He holds over 60 worldwide patents in networking, wireless, communications, and machine learning.
Warren holds advanced degrees from the University of Victoria and the University of British Columbia.
