Violet Whitney is Senior Product Manager at Sidewalk Labs where she leads generative design and research. by which recommendation systems generate spatialized filter bubbles and the potential for data-driven techniques like location awareness and natural language processing to reveal unseen patterns in everyday social media, video, and images.
Prior to joining Sidewalk, Violet created a humanitarian mapping project that geolocates civilian journalist YouTube videos for the Center for Spatial Research; led research and development of interactive and immersive environments at SOFTlab; and developed sustainability analytics tools as a LEED Specialist at SmithGroupJJR.
