Vern Peterson is the VP of WI Field Operations at WEC Energy Group. He began his career with Wisconsin Public Service in 1986 as an associate electrical engineer and steadily rose to become division electrical engineer (1987), process facilitator - Chilton (1995), engineering projects supervisor (1996), manager of the customer service - Two Rivers
(1999), manager of electric distribution engineering (2003), and general manager of operations and engineering (2006). In April 2012, Peterson was appointed vice president of energy delivery for Integrys Energy Group. He was appointed to his current role when WEC Energy Group was formed in June 2015.
Peterson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin.
He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Wisconsin and a graduate of Leadership Green Bay and Leadership Manitowoc County.
Peterson is a board member of the Midwest Energy Association and board president for Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity. He also is co-chair of the Wisconsin Energy Workforce Consortium and a member of the Governor’s Council on Workforce Investment.
