For more than two decades, Van Hipp has served as the Chairman of American Defense International, Inc., in Washington, D.C. This role allows him to utilize both his business and military expertise to effectively support defense, energy, and medical organizations across the United States. Van Hipp served his country during Operation Desert Storm,
overseeing the bulk of Reserve Forces Mobilization during this time and receiving the Bronze Star. He has also received other awards, including the South Carolina Reserve Officers' Association's Nathan Hale Award and the National Guard Association of the United States’ Legion de Lafayette award.
During his free time, Van Hipp enjoys spending time in the great outdoors and performing philanthropic and charitable work. He has worked with the Salvation Army many times, providing leadership and guidance on multiple advisory boards for the organization. He also regularly volunteers with the National Rural Health Association, receiving an award for his outstanding achievements with the group in 2011. His favorite outdoor activities include hunting and fishing.
