Prof. Polat is the director of the Visual and Clinical Neuroscience Laboratory at the Eye Research Institute at the Sheba Medical Center, Faculty of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University. He received a Ph.D in Brain Research from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. He was at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute, San-Francisco, USA
for several years as a Fellow and Associate Scientist. Prof. Polat was the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer of NeuroVision Inc. and developed the first FDA approved training for adult Amblyopia. Prof. Polat is a member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the Visual Sciences Society, The Israel Society for Neuroscience, and the International Brain Organization. His research and scientific publications received international recognition and are highly influential in the field of neuronal interaction, brain plasticity and perceptual learning in improving visual functions.
