At the CDC, Dr. Savel collaborates with staff and the broader public health community to develop, test and evaluate innovative tools and technologies with the potential to improve public health practice. Additionally, he is an adjunct professor in the Applied Public Health Office at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and he
maintains his clinical skills treating patients with opioid addiction. He is on the editorial board of the open access, peer-reviewed journal Blockchain in Healthcare Today (BHTY). He is a member of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
