Mr. Marano, who has over 30 years' experience in finance and lending and is widely considered an expert in the residential mortgage industry, most recently served as CEO of ResCap, a subsidiary of Ally Financial (formerly GMAC).
Prior to joining Rescap, Mr. Marano spent 25 years at Bear Stearns where he ultimately served as the Global Head
of Real Estate until his resignation in 2008. Mr. Marano’s responsibilities at Bear Stearns included oversight of the firm’s mortgage banking and mortgage related capital markets operations. Following his resignation from Bear Stearns, Mr. Marano joined Cerberus Capital Management where he established the mortgage capital markets group. At the request of Cerberus, Mr. Marano joined ResCap, first as its Non-Executive Chairman and later as its CEO. As CEO Mr. Marano lead ResCap’s restructuring and ultimate bankruptcy processes. Mr. Marano holds a B.A. in History from Columbia University.
