Mr. Goetzinger earned his BBA in Finance from Loyola University Maryland in 1998 and his MBA from University of Notre Dame in 2001. He began his career in Baltimore with T. Rowe Price, a firm that pioneered no-load (i.e., no commission) mutual fund management.
In 2001, Mr. Goetzinger joined Morningstar in Chicago as an Equity Research Analyst
covering Healthcare stocks. During most of his five year tenure with Morningstar he served as Associate Director of Equity Research leading analyst teams in the Consumer and Industrial sectors. He played a key role in the equity department growing from 20 analysts to over 100 analysts as the firm substantially increased its client base for independent (i.e., not broker-related) equity research. In 2006, Mr. Goetzinger joined Dreman Value Management in the New York City area as an Equity Research Analyst. While in this role, he was responsible primarily for Healthcare stocks in the firm’s mutual funds.
After about a decade focused on investment research Mr. Goetzinger moved to Scottsdale, AZ and shifted to investment management for clients. From 2010 to 2014 he was an Investment Specialist for JPMorgan Private Wealth Management; from 2015 to 2020 he was a Portfolio Manager for UMB Private Wealth Management.
In 2020, Mr. Goetzinger, Mr. Lukasik, and Mr. Wentland co-founded Candor Wealth Advisors.
Mr. Goetzinger is a CFA® charterholder since 2006.
