Tom is the Founder and President of EvaluMetrix LLC. Tom’s life-long passion is to create new ways to help people live healthier lives. He is an international pioneer in eHealth with decades of experience in health, business, and emerging technologies. He leverages his vast experience in health, technology, business, and government, to help
organizations develop innovative technology strategies and programs. Tom is also an angel investor, advisor to several technology startups, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington. Most recently, Tom was the founder and CEO of Healia, an award-winning consumer health search engine and social networking company that was acquired by Meredith Corporation [NYSE: MDP], one of the nation’s leading media and marketing companies. He was also the President and founder of the eHealth Institute. Tom previously held positions at the US Department of Health and Human Services, the Institute of Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Peace Corps, the US Senate, and two state health departments. In those positions, he won numerous awards and worked in more than two dozen countries on six continents. Tom has authored or co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters, and abstracts on a wide range of health and technology issues. Tom is an alumnus of Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania.
