Tom Carson is the President, Chief Executive Officer and a Member of the Board of Directors at Rovi Corporation since December 2011. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in December 2011, Tom served as the Company's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he was instrumental in expanding the Company globally by
gaining traction for its new solutions.
Tom joined Rovi in May 2008, with the acquisition of Gemstar-TV Guide International. At Gemstar, Tom held key positions, including Executive Vice President of Sales and Services of Rovi, President of Gemstar's North American Guide business and President for Gemstar-TV Guide On Screen.
Prior to his tenure with Gemstar, Tom held a variety of executive positions at Thomson Corporation, including Executive Vice President of Thomson's Program Office; Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing Services; and Executive Vice President, Patents and Licensing, among other roles.
Tom holds a B.S. in Business Administration as well as an MBA from Villanova University.
