Todd was the engineering manager for a directional drilling startup active in most North American drilling regions. He was responsible for quality control, improvement/failure analysis, and generation of differentiating IP including downhole mud motors and MWD components for extreme drilling environments.
Prior to working in oilfield
technologies, Todd served in many roles at Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor, from managing a worldwide operation P&L, to overseeing international application engineering teams focused on DSP, Coldfire and ARM platforms for consumer and automotive applications.
He’s also worked with Texas Instruments on their laser printer and laptop computer product lines, developing new product electro-mechanical elements and supporting production sustaining efforts. Benson holds eight patents with five pending, and has written articles for EE Times and DSP Multimedia and Design. He earned a BS degree in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
