Toby has a background in international finance and senior management having spent the majority of his 25 year banking career at J.P. Morgan before becoming CEO of a merchant bank in Singapore. He has become increasingly focused on working with entrepreneurial business models using disruptive technologies that can enhance the way we live, for
current as well as future generations. Having lived and worked in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States, Toby enjoys learning about the distinct culture of each environment that makes it special, including in areas of history, language, sport and art. This interest has contributed to success in helping to build a track record in bridging and building global partnerships. Toby has degrees from Dartmouth College and the London School of Economics. Prior to joining IB Asia, Mr. O'Connor was a Managing Director at JP Morgan Chase & Co. where he spent a 19-year career in a number of Investment Banking product and client coverage roles in Mergers and Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Financial Sponsor Private Equity and Sovereign Wealth Fund areas based in New York, Latin America, London and the Middle East.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 1992, Mr. O’Connor served in the Irish Guards. Mr. O’Connor is a graduate of DartmouthCollege, in the United States, and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, in the UK.
