Timothy Perdue was one of the original four engineers at VA Linux that started SourceForge. Tim eventually left VA Linux to found The GForge Group while simultaneously running phpbuilder.com and geocrawler.com. Under Tim, GForge grew to hundreds of customers including some very impressive names. Amtrak, BAE Systems, Cisco Systems, Texas
Instruments, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and John Hopkins University are just some of the organizations using GForge. Tim passed away on September 17, 2011. Prior to falling ill, Tim sold The GForge Group to Tony Bibbs.
