Tim Mortsolf is a founder and the Chief Executive Officer of OasisWorks. Tim has worked in the software R&D fields of Internet routing and subscriber management throughout his career at Bell Laboratories, U.S. Robotics, RedBack Networks (acquired by Ericsson), Starent Networks (acquired by Cisco), and Cisco Systems. Tim was also a cofounder
and served as the chief architect at Affirmed Networks (acquired by Microsoft). Tim holds a large number telecommunications and Internet technology patents and is an author of several IETF networking standards. At U.S. Robotics, Tim defined the Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) that enables secure remote access to corporate networks across the public Internet. For work in this field, he was a recipient of the PC Magazine Networking Software Innovation of the Year award. Tim is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts and holds degrees in physics, chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
