Tim Speight (Ph.D.) joined AT&T in 1995 and having worked successfully on GSM and 3G R&D was given the award of Bell Labs Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. In 2000, Tim was one of the first employees at IPWireless and had sole responsibility for the design and specification of the wireless protocol stacks. Throughout his career, Tim
has had a record of innovation, being an inventor on a considerable number of issued patents.
Tim joined Virtuosys in May 2015, again as one of the first employees. As chief system architect, he is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the Virtuosys edge computing solution. Tim is particularly interested in the use of ad hoc mesh networks in edge computing and the security mechanisms required in these systems.
