Mr. Gong joined SIG in Jan 2006 and now leads SIG’s entire VC effort in China. Prior to joining SIG, he was a managing partner of PreIPO Capital, serving as a merchant banker and angel investor for many start-ups. From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Gong was the general manager of StarCom Products Inc. and also served as a senior management consultant for UT
StarCom. He was founder and President of Hotvoice Communications International, a Silicon Valley venture capital backed company that was considered to be an early runner in VoIP, IM and UMS technologies. Tim received a PhD in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 1990 and a BS in applied physics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
