Tim Bowen has over 30 years experience in the entertainment business. Originally qualifying as a lawyer, he joined the Business Affairs team of CBS Records in 1976, and went on to head up Sony Music Publishing in New York. He later returned to London to become Managing Director of Columbia Records. Tim’s career then took him to Universal Music
International and into the Chairman’s seat at BMG. Following the merger with Sony Music, Tim’s most recent corporate role ( until April 2008 ) was as COO of SonyBMG Music Entertainment Worldwide, where his notable dealings at SonyBMG included the acquisition of TV star Simon Cowell’s company, SYCO. Since returning to the UK, Tim has co-founded a new media and entertainment company, BPM Entertainment LTD. In addition he is a non-executive director of a select number of independent film and television companies.
