Tim Belcher is an investor and consultant to various technology and security companies. Previously, he co-founded Riptech where he served as the Chief Technology Officer. At Riptech, Mr. Belcher was the visionary behind Caltarian, the award winning technology that was the foundation for Riptech's security monitoring services. Ernst & Young
recognized Mr. Belcher for his success with the Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2001.
Prior to co-founding Riptech, Mr. Belcher was the Chief Engineer, Eastern Region of Trident Data Systems, a leading cyber security services firm. He has managed information security efforts, including highly specialized network vulnerability and penetration testing; incident response and recovery; intrusion detection; and information security monitoring for numerous Fortune 500 clients, including some of the nation's top ten financial institutions. In addition to supporting commercial clientele, Mr. Belcher has also conducted security assessments of some of the nation's most critical infrastructure components, including the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Control Network. He has also worked with government organizations such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the National Reconnaissance Office, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Space and Naval Warfare Command. Mr. Belcher is also a decorated Army veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
