Mr. Renyi served as Executive Chairman of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation from July 2007 until he retired in August 2008. Prior to that he served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of The Bank of New York Company, Inc. and The Bank of New York, from February 1998 to July 2007. His career at The Bank of New York Mellon and
its predecessor company spanned almost four decades and included key leadership roles in securities servicing, credit policy, capital markets, and domestic and international banking. He also headed the transition team responsible for integrating Irving Trust Company into Bank of New York. Mr. Renyi is a member of the Boards of Directors of Royal Bank of Canada and Public Service Energy Enterprise Group and a former member of the Board of Directors of RiskMetrics Group, Inc. He is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New York.
Mr. Renyi has nearly forty years of experience in the financial services industry, including nearly ten years of experience at the chairman and chief executive officer level. Mr. Renyi has acquired skills in areas that are relevant to the oversight of the Company's operations through his years of service as a senior leader, including strategic planning, capital markets, operational and risk management, corporate governance and leadership development. Through his service on the Board of Directors of several publicly-traded companies, he has acquired experience in overseeing complex operations.
