Thomas Margiotti is an established Philadelphia attorney with extensive experience as an arbitrator and mediator, and as an international alternative dispute resolution (ADR) consultant. Since 2007, his private practice has provided individuals and businesses with representation in complex matters spanning contracts, real estate transactions,
employment issues, and corporate formation and sale. Thomas Margiotti has also served as an adjunct professor at Thomas Jefferson University for a dozen years.
As an assistant district attorney with the Philadelphia DA’s Office from 1987 to 2000, he handled assignments for the Major Trials and Homicide units. He tried more than 100 jury hearings and handled numerous non-jury trials. He later engaged as interim executive director with the Montgomery Conflict Mediation Center.
In 2013, Thomas Margiotti guided an ADR consultancy project in conjunction with USAID and Armenia’s Ministry of Justice. Focused on commercial arbitration, he helped the nation institute legal changes in support of economic development and recommended pathways of online ADR and court-connected arbitration and mediation. He also set in place an educational/orientation program designed for law students, attorneys, and judges.
