In February 2010, Tom Halbouty was named Vice President, Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer after serving as Chief Information Officer since August 1997. He is responsible for Pioneer's global information technology strategies for business, operational and scientific computing. As Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Halbouty is
responsible for assessing emerging technology and establishing processes for tracking its potential value to Pioneer.
Prior to joining Pioneer, Mr. Halbouty was with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) where he focused on major system implementations, large-scale business process outsourcing, financial process best practices and supply chain. Prior to Accenture, he held positions in business planning and development, acquisitions, and financial planning and analysis.
Mr. Halbouty currently serves on the board of Energistics, which establishes software standards for the oil and gas industry. He is also on the Board of Trustees for the North Texas Regional Center for Innovation & Commercialization (NTxRCIC). Mr. Halbouty is active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and he is an advisor to the Council on Competitiveness regarding sustainable energy policy and innovation.
Mr. Halbouty received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
