Thillai Rajan is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Management Studies at IIT Madras. In his academic and industry career he has obtained several fellowships and awards such as the Fulbright Nehru Fellowship, Endeavour Executive Fellowship, and the Chevening Gurukul Fellowship. He teaches the Financial Management course for the
first year MBA students and elective courses in Infrastructure Finance and Venture Capital in the second year of the MBA program. His research areas include Corporate Finance, Project and Infrastructure Finance, Public Private Partnerships and Venture Capital. Prior to joining academia, Thillai has over 8 years of experience in leading corporations such as IL&FS Investment Managers and Infosys Technologies. At IL&FS he independently managed the operations of a Rs. 350 million venture fund. At Infosys Technologies, he was part of the initial founding team to start the Life Sciences Practice. He later became the Unit Operations Manager of a $200 million business unit at Infosys.
Thillai did his graduation in engineering from BITS Pilani, and later completed his doctoral program in management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
