Ted Ko, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Coral, has been passionate about design and its intersection with technology since his school years.
Ted began his foray in the robotics industry while at Harvard, where he studied electrical engineering. While serving as project lead for an assignment in his Engineering Problem Solving and
Design course, Ted spearheaded the development of the ultimate robotic barbeque. He also served as a Design Fellow at IDEO, an international design and consulting firm, while at Harvard. Ted and his peers familiarized themselves with blockchains, an emerging cryptotechnology, and were tasked to find technological solutions for everyday transactions. Together, they developed an app that allows for work certifications to transfer from one employer to another, allowing for someone’s digital identity to be more fluid and less fragmented. After earning his degree in Electrical Engineering, Ted joined Yieldmo as a Creative Coder, collaborating with the design and engineering teams to launch a new ad format for the brand.
Ted officially joined Kobot, his family’s robotics business, as a Project Manager in 2016. It was here that Ted recognized the need for a functional product that fully met people’s expectations of how a robot should enhance everyday life.
As Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Coral, Ted is working to disrupt the robotics industry by developing a uniquely designed and innovative product, the Coral One, the only 2-in-1 vacuum robot on the market. Ted has overseen the development of the Coral One from start to finish, driving the idea through the brainstorm, prototype and production phases.
