Taiga was born in Japan and grew up in Montana in an entrepreneurial family. From a young age, Taiga helped run his family business, which provided educational services to Japanese students, including an online platform that taught Japanese students English.
Subsequently, Taiga pursued his higher education at the University of Redlands, situated
in southern California, where he pursued a dual major in Business and Environmental Studies while minoring in Spatial Studies. Broadening his academic horizons, he undertook a transformative semester abroad in South Africa, which proved to be a profoundly enlightening experience. Additionally, he engaged in a month-long GIS project in Panama, further enhancing his knowledge and expertise.
During his final year as an undergraduate, Taiga dedicated himself to formulating a comprehensive business plan, culminating in his victory at the CVEP fast-pitch competition. This endeavor centered around developing a venture that tracked and quantified individuals' sustainable actions, rewarding them for their eco-conscious behavior.
Drawing on a lifelong involvement in startups and entrepreneurship, Taiga boasts an extensive tenure of over 10 years, characterized by participation in numerous startup weekends and triumphs in multiple pitch competitions. Furthermore, his professional journey has encompassed diverse roles within various startups, nurturing a comprehensive skill set and a nuanced understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Taiga cultivates a range of personal interests and hobbies. Notably, he has honed his taekwondo and other martial arts skills since the tender age of four. An avid traveler, he has traversed an impressive array of 28 countries, enriching his cultural perspective and expanding his global awareness. Additionally, Taiga finds solace and joy in outdoor activities, such as embarking on invigorating hikes or relishing the thrill of water skiing on serene lakes.
