Taiwo Alegbe is a ‘UK Black Entrepreneur of the Year’ finalist and a co-founder of Contingent. The latter is an SaaS platform – with over $8 million from investors – that assists companies to better manage supply chain risk and compliance.
As a mentor at Techstars in Toronto, Canada, Taiwo supports early-stage entrepreneurs in the development and
execution of their ideas. Techstars has invested in over 3,700 early-stage start-ups to date and has an extremely diverse portfolio. As well as mentoring, the organisation offers support to entrepreneurs in the form of finding customers, access to capital, hiring talent, choosing the right infrastructure and more.
Tai Alegbe is an active member of the organisation Founders Pledge, which exists to bridge the gap between charities and entrepreneurs. Founders Pledge was launched out of Founders Forum in 2015, with almost 2,000 members joining to date. Working together to become Europe’s preeminent network of technology and digital entrepreneurs, members have pledged more than $10 billion to charity and donated $1 billion to the charitable sector.
Taiwo himself is very active in undertaking charity work and has dedicated both his time and resources to support Save the Children over the past decade. He has also raised money for the organisation Changing Faces by running the Edinburgh Marathon and performing live comedy.
Taiwo enjoys watching sports, and he particularly enjoys attending premiership football games and watching England matches. He supports Arsenal football team. He is also a keen traveller, having visited 50 plus countries to date.
