From an early age, Sumanta has been involved in mechanical engineering activities, including design, manufacturing, production and inspection, along with his studies. During his final year as an
undergraduate he was involved in the productivity and quality improvement of aerospace components with Godrej Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. of the Godrej Group, one of the largest privately held industrial corporations in India. He then focused his studies in the space sector and during his Master’s he was involved in a project called Space for a Health Information Network on Earth (SHINE), which entered into a partnership with the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS).
Sumanta holds a MSc in Space Studies from the International Space University and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, both of which he acquired before joining Triangle.
