Stuart C. Sweet, M.D., Ph.D., is medical director of the pediatric lung transplant program at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the W. McKim Marriott professor of pediatrics at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Sweet previously served on the OPTN/UNOS data advisory committee and the organ perfusion membership standards working group.
Prior to that, he completed terms on the OPTN/UNOS board of directors and executive committee, serving as secretary, and on the UNOS corporate affairs committee. He has chaired the pediatric transplantation and policy oversight committees and the lung subcommittee of the thoracic organ transplantation committee.
Dr. Sweet was finance committee chair and secretary/treasurer of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT). He also has served on the board of directors and chaired the ISHLT scientific program committee and co-chaired the pediatric council.
He earned his medical degree and his doctorate in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
