Steve McCarthy is the co-founder and COO of Elicient. Before starting Elicient, Steve was one of the first analysts hired at the start-up Kroll Bond Ratings Agency, where he made key contributions to the design and development of the quantitative models employed in the firm’s ratings processes. These contributions include the default and loss model

used to rate over 100 transactions across the prime jumbo, credit risk transfer, multi-CUSIP Re-REMIC, and non-prime sectors. Prior to KBRA, Steve was a quantitative analyst at General Reinsurance - New England Asset Management, an asset manager with almost $70 billion AUM. There, he helped the firm expand its client base in the aftermath of the financial crisis by offering superior analytics to insurance companies trying to value the distressed securities that had been purchased by their previous asset manager.

Steve graduated magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, where he earned his B.S. in Finance with a Minor in Mathematics. He is also a CFA charterholder.
