Steve Eakman is responsible for the company's legal matters relating to its corporate and business operations.
Steve is an attorney with extensive experience providing strategic legal and business counsel to emerging growth and established companies, with particular emphasis on high technology clients. He has assisted companies to develop and
refine their business models; set up optimal legal and capital structures; identify and protect their intellectual property; coordinate employment and equity-based employee benefit arrangements. Steve also has substantial experience in various aspects of corporate finance, including venture capital investment and securities; secured lending and debt finance; mergers and acquisitions; and corporate organization and governance.
His background also includes the negotiation of complex contractual matters, with extensive experience in the retail and customized software arenas; advising clients with respect to development and licensing agreements, domestic and international distribution of technology and products (including ASP and other service-based software and content distribution, as well as conventional distributorship agreements), privacy issues, formation of joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and intellectual property protection strategies.
Steve is a former partner in the Seattle, Washington office of Foster Pepper & Shefelman PLLC, one of the largest law firms in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to joining Foster Pepper he was associated with Seattle-based Lane Powell Spears Lubersky (in its Portland, Oregon office), and Choate, Hall & Stewart in Boston, Massachusetts.
Steve holds a JD magna cum laude from Boston College Law School.
