In his current role as CIO at the University of St Andrews, Steve is responsible for the IT Services function comprising around 75 staff, he is also a member of the University Senior Management Team. Steve is responsible for the strategic development of all IT provision, information assurance and governance and business transformation activities.
Steve has worked primarily in the higher education sector in a variety of IT focused roles. He has also worked in the private sector for Low & Bonar plc in both Europe and North America.
Steve is a European Engineer, Chartered Engineer, Chartered IT Professional and a Fellow of the British Computer Society and has 19 years experience working within the Information Technology field.
Steve was educated at the University of Abertay Dundee where he gained a BSc in Building Engineering and Management, a MSc in Information Technology and later a MBA degree.
