Steve is an experienced healthcare management and information systems consultant with 39 years of experience serving healthcare providers, payers and suppliers of services and products. For providers, Steve’s experience includes clinical, patient management and financial information systems strategic planning, evaluation, selection and
implementation assistance. For payers and suppliers, he has used his extensive understanding of the provider segment to assist clients with formulating product strategy and improve product and services delivery.
Steve was with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) for 25 years. He was in their healthcare practice with partner responsibilities for 15 years. Following Accenture, he was President of Superior Consultant’s e-health Division. Following Superior, Steve was Director of BearingPoint’s Clinical Transformation practice. Most recently, Steve was a VP for Health Services for North Highland Company.
Steve’s client experience covers a wide range of technology enabled performance improvement engagements for health care delivery organizations. Clients include community hospitals, academic medical centers, home health care and large multi-specialty clinics. His clients have also included commercial payers, including health maintenance organizations, and for-profit physician management companies. He has worked with a number of established and start-up healthcare suppliers and vendors to improve delivery of products and services or introduce new products and services to providers.
Steve is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Management. He is an executive-in-residence at the Health Systems Institute, a joint venture between the Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University School of Medicine (http://www.hsi.gatech.edu/). Steve’s role is to be a liaison between HSI and health industry providers and technology suppliers. He also brings his years of consulting practice to students by assisting teach a master’s level course in healthcare informatics and systems.
