Steve G. Smithwick is the President and CEO of Master Wall and Creative Wall Products, Inc., two companies focused on engineered exterior wall systems that enhance aesthetics and environmental performance. He founded Master Wall in 1987 and Creative Wall Products in 2005 to deliver high-quality wall systems to the architectural, engineering, and
construction (AEC) industries, supported by expert customer service and competitive pricing.
With nearly four decades of experience, Smithwick has developed extensive expertise in building materials, particularly in exterior insulation and finishing systems. His contributions have brought innovative wall solutions to residential and commercial projects across the Southeast and beyond. Smithwick is a leading advocate for continuous insulation and finishes systems (CIFS®), which improve thermal efficiency by eliminating energy loss from thermal breaks common in traditional stud and joist systems.
Smithwick attributes much of his success to his Christian faith, which has guided his personal and professional life. His faith is reflected in his company’s mission statement: “To seek God’s guidance in all decisions and to give Him glory for any results.” He encourages his employees to maintain high standards in their careers and personal lives, fostering a culture of integrity and excellence. This approach has helped Master Wall become a national leader in the Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS) industry, offering products like air/water barriers, coatings, and adhesives.
Smithwick’s journey in the industry began after he attended Southern Technical Institute (now Kennesaw State University) in Marietta, GA. In 1987, he seized an opportunity to offer cost-effective siding products that lowered installation costs for commercial exteriors. His engineered components provided an affordable alternative to traditional materials such as metal, wood grain, and stucco.
The success of Master Wall led to the creation of Creative Wall Products, which expanded the range of engineered wall systems. Both companies offer EIFS products with various finishes, including textured stucco and specialty options like wood grain, brick, and stone. These products improve energy efficiency when paired with thermal and moisture protection components.
Smithwick has also significantly impacted the EIFS industry, having served as Vice President and President of the EIFS Industry Member Association (EIMA) Board of Directors. His continued advocacy for thermally efficient and moisture-resistant products shapes the industry's future.
Outside of work, Smithwick is actively involved in his community in Fortson, GA, where he lives with his wife, Donnie. They have four children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Steve G. Smithwick’s leadership and faith inspire his industry and community.
