Mr. Lang has more than 30 years of experience in the ophthalmic pharmaceutical industry.
Prior to joining Clearside, he served from 2006 until 2012 as Vice President, Sales, at ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he led the building and expansion of ISTA’s sales organization and exceeded US $160 million in annual sales.
Before ISTA, Mr. Lang
was Senior Vice President, U.S. Sales and Marketing, for Novartis Ophthalmics, Inc., where his team launched Visudyne® (Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc.; NYSE: VRX). Visudyne® was the first available drug therapy for people with a form of age-related macular degeneration known as classic “wet AMD.”
Mr. Lang began his career with Allergan, Inc. where he served for more than 16 years in various positions including sales, marketing, national accounts and global business development.
He earned his B.B.A. in Management from Georgia Southern University.
