Steve has more than 30 years of business experience working with technology, healthcare and service companies as a general manager, business developer and marketer. Steve worked with
BizLogx helping Ohio Third Frontier with the development and implementation of its early stage capital and entrepreneurial support programs. He is a co-author of the Technology Commercialization Framework, an analytical approach to characterizing and measuring performance of early stage companies and investments. The Framework is used widely throughout Third Frontier.
Prior to his work in technology-based economic development, Steve helped Battelle Memorial Institute implement an internal venture capital process and develop commercial strategies. At Abbott Laboratories, he was the general manager of a medical device business unit, managed a marketing department, and was responsible for new venture development. He has also been an entrepreneur, starting two new ventures including one that was on the INC 500.
Steve has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the Air Force Academy. He served six years in the U.S. Air Force as an intelligence officer. Steve is also a Marketing Lecturer at the Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University.
